Firmer Abs and Healthy Foods

Firmer Abs are attainable

Everyone has abs, yet for a lot of us they are hard to locate. If stubborn belly fat is a problem, changing the way you workout or simply tweaking your diet could eliminate that fat. To help you get your firmest, tightest abs yet, look at the following facts:

1: Eliminate Bloating

Stay away from belly bloating foods such as, Sorbitol, is a sugar found naturally in fruits, (apples, pears, peaches, prunes), as well as in artificial sweeteners, many dietetic foods, and sugar-free candies and gums. Starches, including potatoes, corn, rice, bread, noodles and any products made from flour. These produce more gas as they are broken down in the large intestine.

Your diet and exercise regimens work hand-in-hand so make sure you avoid these on days you want tighter abs.

2: Stop drinking Carbonated sodas

Carbonated drinks are infused with air, so they have stomach-puffing attributes. The stomach process of emptying itself is slowed down by the carbon dioxide gas and the phosphoric acid in sodas also contributes to arthritis by attacking the bones, especially the joints, eating these bones away. Diet sodas with aspertame can do more damage to your health****

3: Stomach Crunching

If done correctly stomach crunches can have major benefits . Contract your abs, keeping your face pointed to the ceiling move toward the ceiling and not your knees, while lifting your head, upper back, and shoulders off the floor in one motion. Be careful not to pull on your head with your hands. Hold and squeeze at the top for a count of 5, then slowly return to the starting position. Start with 5-10 repetitions and work up to 20-25 repetitions at least 3 times a week.

4: Lift Weights

University of Pennsylvania researchers tracked 164 women and found that those who lifted weights for an hour twice a week lost 15 percent more abdominal fat than those who didn't. They also cut their total body fat by almost four percent.

FAQ: Is it useless to do abdominal work when I have some flab on my midsection that I need to work off?

Working out in any form is never useless because you will be burning calories; however, the amount of calories you are burning may be the issue. Another problem is spot-reducing, which is not realistic. The best way to burn calories and get rid of belly fat is cardio. You will be much more successful increasing the length and intensity of your cardio workout and changing your diet. Once you start burning the fat away, you can focus on core exercises that will really make those abdominal muscles pop!

Healthy Foods To Help You Lose Weight

Melons

Throughout the summer, stock up on an array of seedless watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew to cube and have on hand when you feel the urge to "pick." Their high moisture content dilutes the calories per serving and provides you with more water — a great way to hydrate and feel fuller sooner.

Fat-Free Yogurt

Protein-rich dairy foods have been shown to aid in weight loss, so try starting your day with a yogurt parfait. Layer your favorite fat-free yogurt (try Fage 0%, which is thick and super-creamy) with berries and crushed nuts or granola. Bonus tip: This makes a great dessert, too!

Summer Vegetables

You'll benefit from keeping vegetables such as zucchini, yellow squash, red, green, and orange peppers on hand to make meals more flavorful and filling, with fewer calories. Use them in wraps or to fill out pasta dishes, serve them as a side dish, or keep it simple and pile them high on a plate sprinkled with freshly grated cheese.

Also very healthful is AIM BarleyLife®: an all-natural, green barley juice concentrate that helps provide the daily nutrition you need to develop a strong foundation for your good health. The power of BarleyLife is found in the nutrients

Low-Fat Dips, Dressings, and Spreads

Potentially dangerous food fatigue is brought on by eating boring food. A varied selection of low-fat dips and dressings in your fridge will keep your taste buds stimulated and make it easier to get those five servings a day of fruits and vegetables down. Try any of the Sabra Mediterranean dips, spicy salsas, or a yogurt-based dressing to get started!

Hint: Try a spicy wasabi dip for veggies, or a sweet yogurt and sugar-free jam (not containing aspertame) dip for fruit!

Rotisserie-Cooked Turkey or Chicken Breast

Convenient sources of protein are precooked chicken or turkey breast. Keep a container filled and in easy reach. These help keep your blood sugar from dropping and your appetite in check. They can be eaten cold or reheated; cut into strips, sliced, or diced, eaten alone or on salads.

Mini Versions of Your Favorite Drinks

Just because you're cutting back on calories doesn't mean you have to cut out everything you love. Just look for smaller-sized versions of your favorite drinks. For soda lovers, Coca-Cola offers a new 90-calorie Coca-Cola Mini can as an option. (Although not recommended because of the adverse affects, see #2 above). Instead try the new V-8 vegetable and fruit drinks, or the V-8 Splash fruit drink. These are great tasting and very healthy.

Water, Water, Water

Water should become your new best friend when you're trying to lose weight and exercising more. But it's not always easy to drink the required eight glasses a day. Experiment with calorie-free flavored waters like Vitamin water zero. They can satisfy your taste buds and keep you hydrated on your way to the beach!
